北韓首度對外證實境內新冠疫情大爆發，雖然北韓領導人金正恩把矛頭指向官員防疫不力，聲稱是因為防疫體系出現漏洞，但外界分析真正的破口，其實出在4月以來的一連串閱兵和政治活動。
根據北韓官媒朝中社，北韓4月底開始有35萬人出現發燒症狀，其中18萬人正接受隔離治療。南韓的韓聯社指出，北韓近期防疫鬆懈，是這波疫情的主因。
